Kindergarten Focused

Preparing Your Child for a
Successful Kindergarten Start

Our Pre-K program is designed specifically for children ages 4 to 5 who are one year away from kindergarten. It's the most academically focused program we offer — and one of the most important years of your child's early education.

Following the Core Knowledge curriculum, our Pre-K classroom combines structured learning with joyful, hands-on experiences. Children build the reading, writing, and math foundations they need — while also developing the independence, confidence, and social skills that help them thrive on day one of kindergarten.

With a maximum of 15 students per class, every child receives real individual attention from experienced, caring teachers who are trained in the Spalding methodology for reading and writing instruction.

Core Knowledge Curriculum

A nationally recognized, research-backed curriculum that builds a strong, sequential academic foundation — the same one top schools rely on to prepare children for lasting success.

Small Class Sizes

With a maximum of 15 students per class, your child gets real, consistent individual attention — not just a seat in a crowded room.

Spalding-Trained Teachers

Our teachers are trained in the Spalding methodology — a structured, phonics-based approach proven to give young children a powerful foundation in reading and writing.

A Curriculum Built for Kindergarten Readiness

Every subject area in our Pre-K program is intentionally designed to give children the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need walking into their first day of kindergarten.

Early Reading & Phonics

Children develop letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and the foundational reading skills that set the stage for lifelong literacy.

  • Letter recognition (upper & lower case)
  • Phonics & sound awareness
  • Spalding reading method

Writing Basics

From pencil grip to forming letters, children build the fine motor skills and writing fundamentals that kindergarten teachers expect.

Math Concepts

Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, children build a solid early math foundation that makes numbers exciting and approachable.

Social Skills & Confidence

Academic success starts with emotional readiness. We help children build genuine confidence, empathy, and the social skills that make classroom life thrive.

Listening & Following Directions

The ability to listen, focus, and follow multi-step directions is one of the most critical kindergarten readiness skills — and one we build deliberately every single day.

  • Active listening skills
  • Multi-step direction following
  • Attention & focus building

Classroom Routines & Independence

Children practice the daily routines, self-care skills, and classroom independence that kindergarten teachers expect — so nothing feels new or scary on day one.

  • Classroom transitions
  • Self-care & independence
  • Structured daily routines

Structured Days Designed for
Learning & Play

Every day at Little Sprout Pre-K is purposefully structured — balancing focused academic instruction with creative play, peer interaction, and the kind of joy that makes children love coming to school.

Consistent daily routines give children the predictability and security they need to take academic risks, build confidence, and focus on learning. By the time kindergarten starts, the school day routine feels completely natural.
